Hyderabad: Narsingi police registered a case following a complaint by a woman who alleged that an unidentified man engaged in obscene behaviour on the Narsingi cycle track. According to police, the incident occurred in the early hours while the victim was on a morning run near Pole HPS-852. The accused allegedly exposed himself and performed an indecent act in a public place which caused distress to the victim.

On noticing that the woman was recording him on her mobile phone, the accused fled from the spot. The complainant approached the police, stating that the incident caused her mental trauma and seeking action against the unidentified individual.

Cyberabad commissioner Dr M Ramesh said: “We started looking for the accused when we found the video. The victim later approached the police.” An officer in connection with the case told Deccan Chronicle that two teams were working on the case and verifying the CCTV footage.

Teams found no CCTV camera covering the spot. The team then came up with the idea of analyzing the cameras that are on the approach road. The officer said that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the accused.

The incident earlier gained views after the video surfaced on social media as she questioned concerns over the safety of women in isolated public spaces, particularly during early morning hours.
