Police have raided the home of Dr Reza Adib, the partner of former Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, as part of an ongoing investigation.
Officers entered the Gold Coast apartment in the Norfolk building in Burleigh Heads on Thursday afternoon, but it is not yet known what the search was related to.
Palaszczuk has been on a tour promoting her new book about her time as premier and leader of the Labor Party in Queensland.
It is not suggested the raid had anything to do with Palaszczuk.
Police were seen carrying items from the ritzy beachside apartment building on Thursday, after what appeared to be an extensive search.
Adib is a prominent surgeon, specialising in obesity procedures, who has been in a relationship with Palaszczuk since 2021 when she was still premier.
Asked on her book tour earlier this week if the two were considering getting married, Palaszczuk said it wasn’t on the cards.
“We’re very happy. Why would we?” she said.
More to come.
