Coronation Street and Hollyoaks actress Lucy-Jo Hudson announced her engagement to her partner of eight years, Lewis Devine

Lucy-Jo Hudson revealed she is “on cloud nine” after announcing her engagement to long-term boyfriend Lewis Devine, unveiling her stunning ring on Instagram.

The star, who played Katy Harris in Coronation Street, was first linked to her fellow actor eight years ago, following her split from ex-husband Alan Halsall. They went on to welcome son Carter together in 2020.

She shared a glimpse into her fiancé’s romantic proposal on social media, explaining that the moment he got down on one knee came as a total surprise.

In one snap, the mum-of-two beamed at the camera while posing in a yellow dress, embracing her partner, while she showed off her diamond sparkler in another.

“I’m still on cloud 9,” Lucy-Jo captioned the upload. “8 years, our blended family, and a moment I never saw coming. Lew has had this planned for months… and I had no idea….He took me back to the Lakes, where some of our first memories began. We spent the day reminiscing, just us, walking through the most beautiful quiet gardens with no one else around.

“We talked about our kids, our future, how far we’ve come and then Lew just held me tight, telling me about how much he loves our kids, and how he can’t imagine doing life without me… and then suddenly, he was on one knee.

“I was already crying and saying YES before he’d even finished asking me. No big audience, no big show, just us, and a quiet, perfect moment that meant everything. After all our ups and downs, we’ve come out stronger, and now we get forever.

“I’m still on cloud 9 – and I can’t stop looking at my stunning ring, and the man who gave it to me. Thank you for choosing us, always. I love you baby @lewisdevineofficial and I can’t wait to marry you. #Engaged #BlendedFamily #OurStory #ForeverStartsNow.”
