Sreeleela’s Shanti Banaras lehenga, styled by Kunal Mundhe, moves eveningwear away from the usual shorthand of sequins and surface sparkle. The Anar Wine silk organza set, woven in Varanasi, uses silver zari to build a row of elongated arches that runs across the skirt like an architectural frieze.

“This lehenga really started with the arches. The ones you keep seeing everywhere, but here they’re taken and made the entire point of the piece. They’re not small or tucked away; they run across the skirt in silver zari, slightly elongated, almost like they’ve been drawn out and then woven in,” shares Khushi Shah, co-founder and creative director at Shanti Banaras. “On this sheer Anar Wine silk organza, they stand out instantly. You notice the shape first, and then the detailing inside each one.”
Shah describes the result as “regal, dressed up, but in a way that still feels easy. Our own take on a royal bridal look without overdoing it.” The fabric keeps the look featherlight, and as Shah puts it, “even with all that zari, it doesn’t feel heavy.”
The blouse, cut with cap sleeves and a scooped V-neckline, is detailed with antique gold work tracing the neckline. The matching organza dupatta mirrors the architectural arches seen on the skirt.
The actor’s look was styled with an uncut diamond statement necklace, paired with matching drop earrings and stacked kadas. The pièce de resistance of her jewellery look was the matha patti, encrusted with uncut diamonds and rubies that echo the colour of the ensemble. Her makeup featured a neutral base, coppery eyeshadow, kohl-lined eyes and a nude lip.
