Nalgonda: Roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Saturday said the state government is adopting a multi-pronged strategy to generate employment for youth. Launching a two-day mega job mela in Nalgonda, he said the government is facilitating job fairs with participation from private companies while also filling vacancies in government departments through recruitment notifications and promoting entrepreneurship.

He said employment generation remains a priority for the Congress government, with efforts focused on providing opportunities aligned with educational qualifications.
The minister urged industries in districts such as Nalgonda, which has cement, rice and pharmaceutical units, to prioritise local hiring.
With 124 companies from sectors including IT, banking, pharma and business services participating, he asked recruiters to provide jobs to at least 5,000 candidates and issue appointment orders. He directed officials to continue the drive on Sunday in view of the large turnout. He advised candidates to take up available opportunities and continue striving for better positions.
Expressing concern over road accidents, the minister directed officials to enforce traffic regulations and urged youth to follow road safety norms. He also warned industries, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector, of strict action for violations of safety standards.
Nalgonda mayor Burri Chaitanya, district collector B. Chandrasekhar and superintendent of Police Sharath Chandra Pawar were present.
