Kerry Katona, who is set to appear on Sunday Brunch to discuss her upcoming tour, has admitted she can’t shake a heartbreaking concern about her home life with partner Paolo Margaglione

Former Atomic Kitten band member Kerry Katona, 45, has confessed she’s “waiting for the shoe to drop” despite feeling content in her blended family with partner Paolo Margaglione, 34.

Opening up to BBC star Dilly Carter on the Sort Your Life Out Unpacked podcast, Kerry admitted that although her home can be “carnage” at times, with Paolo’s daughters moving in alongside her own children, she “wouldn’t have it any other way”.

Kerry is mum to daughters Molly and Lilly, who she shares with her first husband Brian McFadden, Heidi and Max, who are from her relationship with ex Mark Croft, and DJ, the daughter she shared with her late husband George Kay. Meanwhile, Paolo has two young daughters with his ex-partner.

The singer explained: “My elder two have moved out, I’ve got rid of two and gained two at two and four, so Friday to Monday is just pure carnage in the house. It’s just chaotic, and I forgot what it’s like having toddlers in the house.

“I can’t be in a room unless it’s clean because it messes my head up, so I like to take myself to my bedroom, so when I see everything in a mess I keep going to clean it up after them, but there’s no point until they’ve gone to bed!

“But I wouldn’t have it any other way, let’s add a few more! I would, honest!”

Dilly giggled and asked the mum-of-five: “Would you?”, to which Kerry insisted: “I’d pop triplets out for Paolo!”

Sort Your Life Out star Dilly went on to ask Kerry if she now “feels more settled than she has been” in the past, to which the pop star confirmed she does, describing her home environment as “loving”.

Kerry then heartbreakingly admitted she still has an overriding fear that something will go wrong, even when “everything is going so well for me”.

She revealed: “And everything is going so well for me, and the emotional support that I’m getting from people… I’m not used to that. So I’m kind of waiting for the shoe to drop, does that make sense?”

Dilly replied: “I understand that completely, sometimes you feel like if everything is going so right, when is it going to go wrong?”

Kerry and Paolo, whom she met on E4’s Celebs Go Dating last year, are planning on celebrating their one year anniversary this week with a trip to Chester Races.

However, the star was quick to point out that despite their whirlwind romance, she and Paolo have worked hard on their relationship behind the scenes.

She shared in her new! Magazine column: “It might look like we fell in love quickly on TV but we saw each other a hell of a lot off camera. It feels like 12 years.”

Kerry continued: “People think it’s all romantic and it’s all rainbows and it isn’t. It’s real life. It’s just a relationship that you’ve got to work at, but it’s a relationship we’ll want forever.”

Kerry Katona is appearing on Sunday Brunch on Channel 4 from 10am on May 3.
