Badminton player PV Sindhu heaped praises on Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan for launching an innovative programme, Magic Drains, to maintain sanitation in rural areas.
In a video on social media, she lauded the deputy CM for understanding the hardships of the people in rural areas and initiating the ‘magic drains’ programme, which can be considered as a first step towards healthy surroundings.
Under the new drainage system, the groundwater-level would be improved as water would be filtered and absorbed into the soil, without any wastage. Drainage water would not overflow onto the roads and there would be no foul smell emanating from the drains, she said.

Responding to the video, the Deputy CM’s office thanked the badminton player.
