The second series of Celebrity Traitors is ready for filming and fans believe they have uncovered a twist after watching the BBC show’s announcement video

Celebrity Traitors filming is set to get under way as the famous faces descend on the Scottish Highlands for series two. The jam-pack cast of 21 stars was announced on Saturday and viewers of the BBC contest are already clamouring to find out what will happen.

But they are adamant host Claudia Winkleman is readying herself for a surprise twist after they spotted a clue in the announcement video. The show often sees new twists and turns thrown in each series and this one will more than likely follow suit.

And fans of the series already believe they know one big difference that will take place in Ardross Castle. Taking to Reddit, one fan speculated: “Only 21 cast members, a secret 22nd or a late drop-out?”

Another shared their thoughts, saying: “I could see them bringing an early out from season 1 back as a surprise cast member like Paloma or Tom.”

And a third said: “‘Danny Dyer was extremely heavily rumoured for this so it’d be funny if in Episode 2 he just gets thrown in like a grenade.”

In the non-celeb version of the show, 22 hopefuls enter the castle. But in the initial famous version, 19 stars took part.

The upcoming series, which will air in the Autumn, sees a hugely popular cast vying for a cash jackpot of up to £100,000 for their chosen charity. Among those taking part are Michael Sheen, Ross Kemp, Hannah Fry, Joanna McNally, Amol Rajan, James Acaster and Richard E. Grant.

Bella Ramsey, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Joe Lycett, Julie Hesmondhalgh and King Kenny have also been confirmed in the hilarious announcement video. And they’ll be joined by Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Maya Jama, Miranda Hart, Myha’la, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Sebastian Croft and Sharon Rooney.

Filming is set to begin this weekend with the celebs already arriving at Inverness airport. Once the filming starts this weekend, the famous group will be separated into Traitors and Faithful after they conduct their lengthy interviews with presenter Claudia and members of the production team.

Miranda has been installed as the early favourite with Ladbrokes to be crowned this year’s winner with her odds being currently set at 3/1. British singer James Blunt is the 6/1 second favourite. And comedians Rob Beckett and Joanne McNally round off the top picks at 7/1 and 8/1 respectively.

Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “Miranda Hart makes perfect Traitors material – she’s quick‑witted, likeable, and smart enough to stay under the radar. Punters think she’s well equipped to go deep in the game, which is why she leads the early betting.”
