Popstar Peter opened up about parenting his five children during the latest episode of the ITV daytime show
Peter Andre has opened up about parenting his five children, whose ages span two to 20.
The 53-year-old has five children, including Junior, 20, and Princess, 18, with his ex-wife Katie Price, and three children, Amelia, 12, Theodore, 9, and two-year-old Arabella, with his current wife, Emily.
Appearing on Monday’s (May 4) episode of Loose Women, Peter gave a glimpse into his busy family life during a conversation with Kaye Adams and panelists Jane Moore, Katie Piper, and Myleene Klass.
Jane commented that Peter had previously explained that his own parents were strict with him growing up, and how he has been the same with his two eldest children, Junior and Princess, who are “polite and lovely”.
“Now you’re sort of down to the two-year-old, have you sort of given up, and just like ‘whatever’?” Jane asked Peter, who replied: “Yeah, Junior is fuming as well. Do you get that?”
Myleene laughed before adding: “I get that as well, ‘they are tough on me, and they get away with murder'”, as she touched on her own experience of disciplining her children of various ages.
Peter added, “The thing is, I have always said how strict my parents were, they were Jehovah’s Witnesses, and they were Greek. I said all of the things my dad said to me to my kids.
“And then when they got to about 10, I was like, I don’t agree with half of this stuff, not that mum and dad didn’t do it out of love, it’s so old-fashioned.”
Peter then confessed: “I’m so chilled, it’s actually quite annoying for Emily. They are just kids. I am strict on manners, that is my one thing.”
Later in the episode, Peter added that he has encouraged both Junior and Princess to develop a strong work ethic, despite their famous parents.
The proud dad said: “They are great, it’s nice seeing them do what they want to do. I just said to them, ‘do what you want to do, but just work hard at it, don’t expect to just have it’.”
Princess has enjoyed her own reality series on ITV called The Princess Diaries, which follows the teenager as she juggles life as an influencer and growing up in the spotlight.
Junior is also a popular actor on social media and has launched a music career.
