The show has already left a positive impression on critics. The story is set in the ‘50s, where a few young boys are stranded on an island after a plane crash. Following the plane crash, ‘Jack’ and ‘Ralph’ discover the pilot, who is already dead. The pilot’s body is disposed off by a cliff on the island. A flashback then shows the cabin crew, and they never appear again on the show, which means that they have also lost their lives in the crash. Another dead body of a fighter pilot is discovered by a group, and this is followed by the death of a boy with a birthmark.

Among all the deaths, ‘Simon’s’ demise is considered to be the most brutal. ‘Simon’ forms a close bond with ‘Ralph.’ However, ‘Simon’ decides to go on his own path when ‘Ralph’ starts seeing him as a “batty.” ‘Simon’ starts hallucinating, and while he is going through the bushes, he is believed to be a beast by the group. ‘Simon’ is eventually stabbed by them, and his body is left on the beach.

The group faces a few challenges while they are on the island

Considering that the main characters are stranded for the first time, they start dealing with certain problems. This includes a moment where they try to light a fire, aiming to send a signal. However, the fire starts spreading everywhere due to a lot of wood. The show witnesses another brutal moment when ‘Roger’ throws a boulder on the head of ‘Piggy,’ who is severely injured. He starts bleeding and can later be spotted vomiting. He becomes pale and slowly goes insane, which eventually leads to his death.

On the other hand, the group has to face another fear, ‘The Beast,’ which did not exist on the island. The rumours of the beast are first shared by the littleuns, and it is believed to be a creature from the sea that is hunting everyone. But the identity of the beast is later disclosed as the fighter pilot, whose dead body is found by the group.

Navy officers manage to find the group on the island

While Lord of the Flies is about to end, the group manages to escape the island. ‘Ralph’ spots two Navy officers on the beach, who tell him that they saw a lot of smoke coming out of the place. As the officers continue their questioning, the remaining group members come out with spears. But they stop after witnessing the adults. One of the officers asks the group if they were playing for all this time and if anyone is alive. ‘Ralph’ tells them that two people are dead.

‘Ralph’ gets emotional as he reveals what happened to the others. When the officer asks ‘Ralph’ to disclose the identity of the group leader, ‘Jack’ starts looking towards the ground. ‘Ralph’ then tells the officer that he is in charge, and while the officer questions him about the number of people that are now alive, ‘Ralph’ is unable to reveal the same. However, ‘Ralph’ admits that the situation was a lot better when everyone was together. The group then enters the boat while ‘Jack’ appears still, pointing at the fact that everything is over now.
