The bodice carries a concentrated section of the work, entirely embellished with diamonds and detailed with metallic zardozi hand embroidery. Envisioned by Nita Ambani and created by Kantilal Chhotalal in close collaboration with Shroff Adajania, it began as a way to bring the family’s diamond archive into couture. Over two hundred old mine-cut diamonds are hand-sewn across the bodice using stones from Nita Ambani’s private collection.

Two graduated diamond necklaces, together over 250 carats, sit at the neck; haathphools extend across the hands, while diamond waist belts trace the fall of the sari.

Shroff Adajania accessorised Ambani’s look with a jasmine hair sculpture inspired by mogra and gajra. Over the course of more than 150 hours, Brooklyn-based artist Sourabh Gupta individually hand-shaped each jasmine bud and bloom using paper, copper and brass, finishing them with Indian pigment paint. A hand-carried Subodh Gupta mango sculpture, added the final touch.
