Meet Emma Chamberlain’s Ex-Boyfriend, Peter McPoland, A Musician, Post Her 2026 Met Gala Appearance

Emma Chamberlain is one of the most renowned American influencers. Her career started almost a decade ago when she launched her YouTube channel. Over the years, Emma has also established herself as a podcaster, businesswoman, and model. It is worth mentioning that she has even made it to Time magazine’s Time 100 Next list. 

At present, Emma Chamberlain is grabbing the spotlight after her appearance at the recent Met Gala on May 4, 2026. Walking the red carpet, she looked stunning in a Mugler turtleneck gown, which, at a glance, is reminiscent of a Van Gogh painting. Many have deemed her one of the best dressed at fashion’s biggest night. Peter McPoland was born in Vermont

According to a report by Cleveland.com, Peter McPoland was born in Vermont. When he was 7, however, Peter moved to Texas. While he was still in school, Peter was involved in theatre. Despite this, in 2019, he admitted to Chorn that he wanted to get more involved in the musical side of things. He said:

“I find myself enjoying time in the theatre and spending time with friends, but whenever I’m in the recording studio with this new song, it’s the most fun I’ve ever had in my entire life.” 

Peter McPoland’s passion for music began when he was only 9 years old

Apparently, Peter McPoland’s involvement with music began at a very young age, when he was only 9. His journey, which started with school theatre, soon transitioned into him writing his own songs. According to Columbia Records, Peter was 14 when he picked up a guitar for the first time and even taught himself how to play the instrument. Peter admitted to Cleveland.com in 2019 that his passion was also heavily influenced by his parents. He said:

“Both of my parents are very into music, and my father – a lot of influences come from my father.” 

Peter signed with Columbia Records in 2021 and released his debut song, I Can’t Sleep, which was reportedly inspired by his parents’ divorce. After two years, he released his debut album titled Piggy under the label. At the time, he told his label that instead of crying, he just writes songs. He said:

“I take whatever I’m going through, write it all out and put it in a point of view that rhymes. I don’t know if it fixes anything, but everything always feels a little better after that.” 

Peter McPoland has admitted to being a “big Emma Chamberlain fan”

In November 2023, during his appearance on the Zach Sang Show, Peter opened up about his admiration for his now-ex-girlfriend, Emma Chamberlain. He said, “I’m a big Emma Chamberlain fan. She’s an icon to me.” Peter even said that he appreciates “what she’s done” when it comes to building her business.” For those unaware, Emma first rose to fame back in 2016 on YouTube. Since then, she has continued to expand her brand, be it with creating Chamberlain Coffee, her podcast, Anything Goes, or even other ventures in the fashion industry, like taking interviews at the Met Gala red carpet. 

During the same interview, Peter went on to compare Emma to Bruce Springsteen, who has been a big influence on him. It is worth noting that in May 2023, Peter shocked fans when he included snippets of Emma’s YouTube work in his music video for Blue. 

Peter McPoland and Emma Chamberlain were first spotted together in New York City 

Although we do not know the exact details of how and when Emma and Peter first crossed paths, the pair were spotted together for the first time in May 2024. Reportedly, this was near the Rockefeller Center in New York City. They were seen together once again later in the same month, attending the Kilby Block Party music festival in Utah. 

Peter McPoland and Emma Chamberlain made their first public appearance at the 2024 Olympics 

Even though Emma Chamberlain and her now-ex-boyfriend, Peter McPoland, did not officially confirm their relationship at the time, fans noticed the pair attending a number of events at the 2024 Olympics in July that year. However, it is worth mentioning that Emma and Peter were not alone as they were seen with the former’s dad, Michael, at an event hosted by Ralph Lauren. The rumoured couple were even photographed the next day sitting side by side at the artistic gymnastics tournament. 

Peter McPoland and Emma Chamberlain “soft-launched” their relationship by wearing a couple’s costume on Halloween 

In October 2024, on the occasion of Halloween, Peter McPoland and Emma Chamberlain stepped out in a couple’s costume. For those unaware, the duo were dressed up as ‘Wallace’ and ‘Gromit’ from the British animated film series. While neither of them posed for a picture together, Emma did share a zoomed-in shot featuring her then-boyfriend’s tag that read, “Hello, my name is Gromit.” Soon, fans took to the post’s comment section and dubbed it the rumoured couple’s “soft launch.”
