Veteran producer RB Choudhary, one of the most influential names in South Indian cinema, passed away following a road accident in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The circumstances surrounding the crash, along with details regarding others involved in the incident, are yet to be officially confirmed.
A Producer Who Shaped Mainstream South Indian Cinema
With a career spanning nearly four decades, Choudhary built a formidable legacy through his banner Super Good Films, producing several landmark Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films. Beginning his production journey in 1988, he quickly emerged as a major force in commercial cinema, particularly through films that balanced family drama, emotion, and star-driven storytelling.
His first Tamil production, Pudhu Vasantham (1990), directed by debutant Vikraman, became a critical and commercial success, earning the Tamil Nadu State Film Award. In the same year, he backed KS Ravikumar’s directorial debut Puriyada Pudir, beginning a long-standing association with filmmakers who would later become major industry names.
