Popular actress Laila expressed happiness about being part of the upcoming film Godari Gattupaina and revealed that the makers were keen on bringing her back to Telugu cinema.
“Director Subhash brought me back to Telugu cinema after many years, and I’m happy that he insisted on having me in this film,” she said, adding, “This team has been wonderful to work with.”
Laila also praised her co-stars, actress Nidhhi Agerwal and actor Sumanth Prabhas, calling them talented performers and wishing them a bright future. “I urge audiences to come to theatres and support the film,” she added.
Laila became a popular heroine in Tollywood after making her debut with Egire Paavurama in 1997 and quickly rose to fame. She went on to star in films like Pelli Chesukundam and Ugadi. She also shared screen space with Nandamuri Balakrishna in Pavitra Prema and appeared alongside Mohan Babu in Khaidi Garu. Her romantic entertainers like Subhakankshalu and Love Story 1999 further strengthened her fan following before she shifted focus to Kollywood and established herself there as well.
She now joins the growing list of yesteryear heroines making a comeback to Tollywood in special roles. Recently, Laya returned with Thammudu, while senior actresses like Tabu, Ramya Krishnan and Sukanya have also been portraying impactful supporting and character roles in Telugu cinema.
