John Lennon’s son Julian has urged fans to go to the doctors as he reveals two recent medical diagnoses in a major health update to his followers.
John Lennon’s son Julian Lennon has revealed that he has been diagnosed with coronary heart disease, revealing at the same time that he is pre-diabetic.
The musician, 63, whose biggest hit was his 1984 song Too Late For Goodbyes, took to social media to share the news with followers – warning fans to get themselves to get checked out.
“After being diagnosed with coronary heart disease and a pre-diabetic, I urge you all to get checked out sooner rather than later. You never know what hidden health issues you may have, even after exercising and eating as much good/healthy food as possible. Nip it in the bud! As they say…,” his message began on Facebook.
“Even with these ailments, I’ve managed to catch them early enough to be able to reverse some of the damage and will hopefully be able to live a healthy long life.
“Please get checked out, before your’re checked out…And last but not least, thanks to all the Doctors who have helped and guided me on this new journey so far…Truly x”
The message from the musician received over 6,000 reactions and over 100 comments, with followers wishing him all the best and encouraging him to prioritise his health.
This isn’t the only time the singer has shared this kind of health update. In 2020, he revealed he was left ‘shaking inside’ following an emergency operation.
The star revealed he had a cancerous growth on his head. He wrote on Facebook that after viisting a dermatologist: “She urged me to have a Biopsy 2 days ago, which I obliged… Only to learn, 24 hrs later, that it was malignant/cancerous, and that her recommendation was to get it removed immediately, which is what happened today…
“Hopefully we managed to remove all that was cancerous, but the mole is being sent off again, for a further/deeper analysis, and I’ll have those results next week.”
He said this incident happened after one of the most “positive and productive weeks” of his life after a “very trying year, if not 5 years” since his mother Cynthia died.
“I cannot tell you how I felt, from One moment of Joy, to the fear of feeling that I may be gone, at any given moment,” he wrote. “I’m still shaking inside… But My Faith is Strong….”
Julian is the son of John Lennon and his first wife Cynthia. The couple was married from 1962 until 1968 and had just one child together, Julian, who inspired the song Hey Jude. John was murdered at the age of 40 in 1980, while Julian’s mother Cynthia died aged 75 in April 2015 at her home in Spain after a ‘short but brave’ battle with cancer.
