'The Boys' Season 5 Episode 7 Ending Explained, 'Frenchie' To Sacrifice Himself For Lover, 'Kimiko'?

The Boys Season 5, the satirical superhero television series, is currently the talk of the town. The hit series is now gearing up for its finale episode. Today, on May 13, 2026, Amazon Prime Video dropped The Boys Season 5 Episode 7. This season, ‘The Boys’ and ‘Billy Butcher’ (played by Karl Urban) are teaming up for one last time to get rid of the pathetic reign of ‘Homelander’ (played by Antony Starr). Now that the penultimate episode has been released, continue reading to know what happens at the end.

‘Billy Butcher’ and ‘The Boys’ have a dangerous backup plan to compete against ‘Homelander’ (Spoilers ahead)

The Boys Season 5 Episode 7, titled The Frenchman, the Female, and the Man Called Mother’s Milk focuses on themes like love, sacrifice, betrayal and dominance. Earlier, in The Boys Season 5 Episode 6, the audience closely observed ‘Homelander’s’ hunt for the V1 formula. For the uninitiated, the V1 formula grants immense powers, immortality and also prevents ageing. At the end of Episode 6, ‘Soldier Boy’ reunites with ‘Bombsight’ and eventually gives the V1 formula to ‘Homelander’.

This newly acquired power made ‘Homelander’ more powerful and cruel. Thus, to win over ‘Homelander’, ‘The Boys’ and ‘Billy Butcher’ come up with a backup plan. But this backup plan becomes a double-edged sword for them. ‘The Boys’ discovered through documents that ‘Soldier Boy’  got his power-erasing abilities after being exposed to radiation treatment. To replicate the treatment, ‘Frenchie’, one of the key members of ‘The Boys’, managed to convince ‘Sister Sage’ to help him with the calculations to speed up the process.

To replicate the same radiation treatment that was applied to ‘Soldier Boy’, ‘The Boys’ brings ‘Kimiko’, another key member of the team, who becomes a lab rat for the radiation experiment. It is believed that if ‘Kimiko’ can go through the radiation treatment, she will develop ‘Soldier Boy’s’ power-erasing abilities, which will be a threat to ‘Homelander’. ‘Kimiko’ is locked in a chamber and is exposed to extreme radiation for 30 seconds. Soon, her skin started to burn, and she fainted inside the chamber. However, ‘Frenchie’ and ‘Sister Sage’ come to her aid and comfort her. That’s when they get to know that ‘Homelander’ will soon arrive.

After learning about ‘Homelander’s’ arrival in the next few minutes, ‘Frenchie’ hides ‘Sister Sage’ and ‘Kimiko’ in a zinc chamber. This chamber helps the duo to stay hidden from the upcoming threat. Meanwhile, ‘Frenchie’ goes into the radiation chamber and hides himself. As ‘Homelander’ arrives at the school, ‘Frenchie’ tries to distract him by inviting him to the cruel ‘Supe’ to the radiation chamber. The scene grows intense during ‘Homelander’s’ conversation with ‘Frenchie.’ During this scene, ‘Homelander’ asks ‘Frenchie’, “You don’t really think you are gonna recreate Soldier Boy’s little party trick, do you?” In response, a scared ‘Frenchie’ told the antagonist, “We already did.
