Welcome to Magic Round
Hello and welcome to a Friday night double-header to kick off the NRL’s Magic Round in Brisbane. It’s Dom Brock at the blog desk with you tonight.
First up, two teams that finished inside the top five last season but are in the bottom half of the ladder this year. The 10th-placed Sharks have had an erratic start to the season – they racked up 50 points against an improved Tigers side a fortnight ago, but have lost three of their past four games.
The Dogs meanwhile beat frontrunners Penrith but have since lost four on the trot, and have the second-worst attack in the league this year. One of these teams can start turning things around tonight. Kick-off is at 6pm.
Then, South Sydney face the Dolphins – which enjoy an unofficial home ground advantage at Suncorp Stadium. Souths sit in fourth place on the ladder, while the dangerous Dolphins haven’t quite clicked into gear just yet and sit in ninth.
