Inbetweeners and Rivals star Emily Atack has an eventful life away from the spotlight
Emily Atack is back on our screens for Rivals season two and fans are curious about her life away from the cameras.
Actress and comedian Atack, 36, will be reprising her role as Sarah Stratton in the 80s-set Disney+ drama Rivals.
The series launched on the streaming platform on May 15 at 8am this morning and audiences will be getting a total of 12 episodes, compared to the eight instalments in the first outing.
Many audience members are keen to know more about Atack’s life off-screen as she steps further into the spotlight this season.
Emily Atack’s Strictly Come Dancing host rumours
Atack is best known for her roles in Channel 4 sitcom The Inbetweeners and Rivals.
She’s also featured on the likes of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, Dancing on Ice and The Keith Lemon Sketch Show. The star had her own comedy series The Emily Atack Show.
Now, it looks like the TV personality could be heading into the glitz and glamour of Strictly Come Dancing as rumours swirl about her taking over as host on the long-running BBC series.
Get Disney+ for £5.99

A Disney+ subscribtion now starts at £5.99 per month and provides access to hit series like Rivals, Only Murders in the Building and The Bear, plus countless titles from Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar and more.
A source told Closer back in January: “She’s really happy and confident in the way she feels and is now ready to take the next step with her work, too. Strictly would be her dream job – it is her favourite TV show.”
If Atack got the role, she would be taking over from veteran presenters Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly, who have fronted the series since 2014.
Meanwhile, Daly has been presenting Strictly since 2004 when she co-hosted alongside the legendary Bruce Forsyth.
The BBC has yet to confirm who will be stepping into Winkleman and Daly’s shoes when the series returns this autumn.
Atack has never actually graced the ballroom floor herself, previously telling the Radio Times: “I mean, Strictly is a wonderful show but I don’t think anybody needs to be subjected to watching my dance moves right now. We’ve all been through enough.”
Emily Atack’s trolling heartbreak
Atack has previously opened up about online abuse that she’s faced at the hands of trolls.
The star revealed how she’d received hundreds of abusive online messages, prompting her to go to the police.
The star also fronted the BBC documentary Emily Atack: Asking For It? in which she explored why she and other women were being subjected to the barrage of online sexual harassment.
Moreover, she questioned why the blame for the unwanted attention was put on the victim rather than the perpetrators, going so far as to take the debate to Parliament in 2022 in the hopes of making cyber-flashing illegal.
She was trying to understand the psychology behind this behaviour and even tried to speak to some of the men directly, who were routinely sending her sexually explicit content.
She spoke candidly in 2023 on This Morning about her decade-long ordeal from anonymous trolls online. Atack said that most of the trolls blocked or ignored her when she tried to contact them, however, one man did actually speak to her.
“Another guy did get in contact with me and he told me why he sent the messages and that broke my heart and that was psychologically very difficult for me to deal with because he basically said to me that I come across as a type of girl that is up for that kind of behaviour. I’m easy access an easy target.”
She went on to say: “It shows you can’t be a sexually liberated woman and you can’t celebrate your body, you can’t celebrate your youth without people thinking that you’re asking for negative attention.”
Rivals season 2 premieres on Disney+ on May 15
