Nellore: Police conducted cordon-and-search operations in Dargamitta and Allur police station limits early on Friday to strengthen law and order and improve public safety.
Special teams searched Ram Nagar and Kranti Nagar under Dargamitta limits and the Settlement Area under Allur limits between 5 am and 7.30 am.
More than 100 police personnel inspected nearly 320 houses and monitored suspicious persons, vehicles, rowdy-sheeters and anti-social activities.
Police seized 58 two-wheelers, seven autos and a car for lack of valid documents. Two rowdy-sheeters and two suspects in old cases were counselled and warned against unlawful activities.
Residents were also sensitised on traffic rules, women’s safety, prevention of property offences and the dangers of ganja and narcotic substances.
