Hyderabad: A major fire broke out in unit-three of Yadadri Thermal Power Station (YTPS) in Nalgonda district on Sunday.
The fire-fighters, who carried out a fire-fighting operation, said the flames would have originated from the turbine driven boiler feed pump area. The initial assessment is that the accident occurred due to oil leakage at the pump. The entire area was engulfed with thick smoke after the incident.
Control cables and valves are reported to have been damaged in the incident. However, no one was injured.
