Relations between Ranveer Singh and his mentor Aditya Chopra had reportedly been strained for the past few years. There was a time when Ranveer would not sign a film without consulting Aditya. However, things changed after Ranveer delivered two underperformers for Yash Raj Films — Befikre and Jayeshbhai Jordaar. The distance grew further when Ranveer found success outside the banner with Padmaavat and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
Meanwhile, when Saiyaara emerged as a major money-spinner for YRF in 2024, industry buzz suggested that debutant Ahaan Panday had become Chopra’s new blue-eyed boy.
Now, however, the tide seems to have turned as Ranveer’s Dhurandhar has reportedly revived industry confidence in the actor and reshaped his box-office standing.
Chopra and Ranveer reportedly met behind closed doors at the Yash Raj Studios last week. According to an insider, the meeting lasted for over two hours. Chopra, who is said to have loved Dhurandhar, discussed the film extensively with Ranveer and also expressed interest in collaborating again. According to sources, Chopra is keen to develop a sequel to Band Baaja Baaraat — the film that marked Ranveer’s debut and made him an overnight star.
