Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will lead the state Congress delegation to the swearing-in ceremony of V.D. Satheesan as Kerala’s Chief Minister at Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Revanth Reddy will leave for Kerala later on Sunday night.

The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) scored a landslide victory in the Kerala elections, linking 102 out of 140 seats and ended a decade of LDF (Left Democratic Front) rule. Revanth Reddy, as a star campaigner, covered several constituencies and was present at the release of the UDF’s manifesto along with Satheesan.

The presence of Revanth Reddy, alongside other Congress Chief Ministers like Karnataka’s Siddaramaiah and Himachal Pradesh’s Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, is intended to project a strong united southern political front and boost opposition solidarity. Top AICC national leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and Mallikarjun Kharge, are expected to attend the event.

Revanth Reddy’s campaign covered the Assembly constituencies of Nemom, Kovalam, Mavelikkara and Pathanapuram. His aggressive style and strategic messaging are credited with significantly contributing to the UDF’s decisive victory. His speeches also attracted the attention of the LDF, which countered the statements instantly, particularly when he challenged former Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan through his letters and dared him to visit Telangana to verify the guarantees announced by the party.

Following the election results, even the Telangana Congress leadership also credited Revanth Reddy’s focused southern push for helping the UDF unseat the decade-long Left government.

During the election campaign, Revanth Reddy also emphasised that Telangana looked forward to close bilateral cooperation with the new Kerala government in sectors like investment promotion, tourism, and skill development. Showcasing the ‘Telangana Model’, during his campaign, he explained to the voters the ‘Six Guarantees’ and welfare schemes currently being implemented by the Congress in Telangana.
