Supermodel Cindy Crawford has left fans gobsmacked after returning to the runway at 60 years old – with many unable to believe how incredible she looks as her ageless beauty steals the show
Supermodel Cindy Crawford has been branded the “greatest of all time” after making a stunning return to the catwalk at 60 years old. The 90s fashion icon made a surprise appearance at the Gucci Cruise show in Times Square, New York, leaving fans blown away by her ageless beauty.
Sharing photos backstage at the event on Instagram, she wrote: “Backstage at the @Gucci Cruise show in Times Square, New York.” Cindy closed the star-studded show wearing a dramatic black feathered gown, with her hair styled in the glossy waves that helped make her one of the world’s most recognisable supermodels. The runway also featured Paris Hilton and former NFL star Tom Brady, while celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Mariah Carey and Lewis Hamilton watched from the front row.
Fans were quick to praise Cindy’s appearance online, with many saying she looked just as incredible as she did during her modelling heyday.
One user said: “I’m still screaming! I love this Cindy! So excited for you, you look just beautiful and elegant and calm and gorgeous…and maybe even a tiny bit shy. Love you.”
Another added: “Cindy, you’ve been redefining beauty for decades and somehow still look just as iconic backstage today as you did during the golden supermodel era!
“Your elegance, confidence and timeless presence are the reason I’ve stayed a devoted fan for so many years. Thank you for continuing to inspire collectors and longtime admirers like me every single day.”
A third wrote: “Iconic elegance and class.” One more said: “Great to see you back. I feel like there’s so much to model than what people see like the runway. You are an inspiration to me.”
Early in her career, agencies told Cindy to remove her facial mole. She kept it, and it went on to become her ultimate signature, redefining beauty standards for a whole generation.
She brilliantly bridged the gap between high fashion and mainstream media. She walked the runways for Chanel and Versace, but she also hosted MTV’s House of Style for six years, bringing the exclusive fashion world straight into teenagers’ living rooms.
Cindy soon became a core member of the elite group of ’90s supermodels (alongside Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, and Tatjana Patitz) who essentially became bigger celebrities than movie stars. They didn’t just wear the clothes; they were the moment.
Some of her iconic moments included her starring role in George Michael’s legendary “Freedom! ’90” music video, or that famously iconic 1992 Pepsi Super Bowl commercial where she casually steps out of a Lamborghini in a white tank top and denim cutoffs.
Unlike a lot of models whose careers faded as they got older, Cindy pivoted flawlessly into a massive business empire. She launched top-selling fitness videos, created the massively successful skincare line Meaningful Beauty, and built her own furniture brand.
However, she stepped back from modelling in 2000, making her runway appearances increasingly rare over the years. The supermodel’s last major catwalk appearance came in Paris back in 2022.
But while she may have taken a step back from the spotlight, her daughter, Kaia Gerber, has followed closely in her footsteps.
The 24-year-old model recently appeared at the Disney Upfront event in New York to promote her upcoming FX series, The Shards.
Away from fashion events, Cindy was also recently spotted celebrating husband Rande Gerber’s 64th birthday in Malibu, with the pair pictured leaving a dinner at Lucky’s steakhouse hand-in-hand.
One thing’s for sure, her life looks just as glamorous as it did back in the 90s. She’s still got it!
