BBC presenter Gabby Logan made the personal revelation in her 2022 book, leaving her husband, Kenny Logan, and their children, Reuben and Lois, stunned

Gabby Logan has revealed her daughter was left “horrified” by a confession she made in her 2022 memoir. In her book, The First Half, the broadcaster disclosed she once started seeing a German tennis player while still in a relationship with a boyfriend at university.

The 53-year-old said she decided to be candid about her past infidelity, believing it was crucial for her children to recognise that people can make mistakes and recover from them.

Discussing her daughter Lois’ response, Gabby confessed: “She was horrified. I cheated on a boyfriend and she said, ‘I can’t believe you did that’. I said, ‘It’s really important that you know I’ve made mistakes because you can come back from those things’.”

Gabby’s husband, Kenny Logan, has also previously voiced his surprise at her admission, while appearing on her Mid Point podcast. He told her: “That was a bit of a shock. It was a shock to the kids, too!”.

The couple have been married since 2001, having met at a bar two years earlier. Four years later, they welcomed their twins Lois and Reuben, now 20, into the world.

Speaking warmly of her husband on HELLO!’s Second Act Podcast with Ateh Jewel, Gabby said: “We’re each other’s biggest fans. He’s never begrudged any career success I’ve had.

“He’s always really encouraged me and that’s been wonderful.” The couple have also stood by one another during recent challenging periods, including Kenny’s fight against prostate cancer and the death of Gabby’s father.

Terry Yorath, a legendary Welsh footballer, died in January aged 75 after a brief illness. The devastating news emerged mere hours after Gabby unexpectedly departed Match of the Day while live on air, with replacement host Mark Chapman explaining it was due to a family emergency.

In a statement, the BBC Sport presenter honoured her late father, calling him a “kind-hearted and generous man” with a “wicked sense of humour”.

Meanwhile, Kenny received unexpected news when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2022.

The 54-year-old revealed the diagnosis came as a complete surprise during a standard health screening, as he displayed no apparent symptoms at the time.

He subsequently received treatment, including surgery, and is now in remission.

The father-of-two has since used his profile to champion awareness about the significance of PSA testing and early diagnosis, with Gabby following suit.

Speaking previously to Chris Evans on his Virgin Radio programme, she revealed Kenny was diagnosed with the condition following six months of more comprehensive testing.

“He had no symptoms. So it was purely going to have those hormone tests,” she explained. “Ultimately, he had his prostate removed, because that was decided the best course of treatment for him.

“Because he caught it so early, it hadn’t spread anywhere. And that’s the danger with prostate cancer, is that if you wait too long and you have symptoms, it may go to other parts of the body. So he was incredibly lucky.”
