Tom Kane, Powerpuff Girls Voice Actor’s Daughter Made Special Art For Him, All About His Nine Kids

Remember the Cartoon Network’s famous animated series, The Powerpuff Girls, and the doctor who created the ‘girls’. Well, the voice actor, Tom Kane, who played ‘Professor Utonium’ in the series, passed away on May 18, 2026. His death at the age of 64 left millions heartbroken. 

As per his representative, Zach McGinnis, the voice actor died due to complications from his 2020 stroke. He was in the hospital in Kansas City, where he took his last breath. However, before his death in March 2026, Tom Kane reunited with his Powerpuff Girls voice actors, and in honour of that meeting, his daughter created a special piece of art for him.

A post dated from April 7, 2026, Tom Kane’s daughter, Sami Kane’s daughter, shared a post from him. In the photo, she shared her beautiful art, which was an ode to his character in Powerpuff Girls. It was a beautiful painting on a heart-shaped canvas which showed ‘Professor Utonium’ flaunting his grey and his girls all grown up, and besides him. Along with it, she penned:

“I drew this for my dad in honor of his recent reunion with the girls!!! Done on canvas with acrylic paint pens Sending all my love and gratitude to @tkanevo @tarastrong @realegdaily @catherinecavadini.”

In March 2026, Tom Kane reunited with his Powerpuff Girls co-stars, and it was the warmest reunion as it happened after Tom Kane’s stroke. In 2020, Tom Kane suffered a serious health condition, and the stroke took his voice. They were grateful to see him again and recover well. The post can be read as:

“In December 2020, our Powerpuff Girls father, Professor Utonium—Tom Kane—suffered a stroke that left him unable to speak. We’re so grateful to see him again and to witness his recovery. We love you, Tom xx EG, Tara, and Cathrine.”

All about Tom Kane’s wife and children

Tom Kan was married to Cindy Roberts, and they had a long and beautiful marriage. They were married for more than 40 years and built a large family. The two welcomed nine children, including biological as well as kids whom they adopted and fostered. The family stayed away from the glamorous world despite Tom Kane’s huge success. In fact, when Tom Kane suffered a severe stroke in November 2020, his wife, Cindy and their children became his strength and supported him.

Tom Kane suffered a major stroke in 2020. The incident damaged Tom’s speech and communication abilities, and it was the end of his voice acting. However, his kids played a major role in helping him during the physical and emotional recovery phase. The couple’s daughter, Sam Kane, often shared updates with Tom Kane’s fans about the actor’s health.

Apart from voicing the famous character in The Powerpuff Girls, Tom Kane also gave his voice to the character of Admiral Ackbar in Star Wars: The Last Jedi (Episode VIII). He also played the voice artist for ‘Jedi Master Yoda’ and ‘Admiral Yularen’ in the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Tom Kane had to retire from voice acting after his November 2020 stroke on the left side of his heart. After which, his right side was weakened, and it impacted the speech centre of his brain. It was the reason he was unable to speak during his final years, and it became the reason for his passing.
