Following months of feuding with his parents, Brooklyn Beckham appears to hold no ill will towards his grandfather, and sent him a loving birthday message after skipping celebrations
Brooklyn Beckham has sent a heartfelt message to his grandfather, showing his love for the man amid a feud with his family. This comes after Brooklyn skipped his grandad’s 80th birthday to instead go on a date night with his wife Nicola Peltz.
Earlier this year, Brooklyn cut ties with his family in an explosive statement on Instagram, where he accused his parents of trying to “control” him and said he never wanted to reconcile with them. His grandparents were not mentioned in the statement, and Brooklyn has now signalled that they are not included in feud.
Though he did not go to see mum Victoria Beckham’s dad, Anthony Adams, on his 80th birthday, Brooklyn posted a special birthday tribute on Instagram. He shared a picture of him and his grandad, where the two smiled at the camera as they sat next to each other, and wrote underneath: “Happy 80th birthday papa x I love you so much.”

This wasn’t the only post Brooklyn appeared in that day. He was also seen in snaps from his day out with Nicola, shared by his wife – the two enjoyed a trip to the hairdressers and a glass of wine. Sharing several pics of herself and Brooklyn sat in hairdressers chairs, Nicola said: “My best friend took me to the salooon [sic].”
Later, she posted pics of her and her husband with a glass of white wine each. Behind her, a huge bouquet of flowers could be seen on the bar.
Brooklyn has missed lots of family events amid the feud with his parents, including his dad’s 50th birthday and knighthood. As such, he was not expected to return to the UK for Anthony’s 80th. But sources have previously been clear that he holds no ill will towards his grandparents. In fact, he “adores them”.
A friend of the 26-year-old chef and influencer told MailOnline: “While things between him and his parents are over, Brooklyn is still very fond of his grandparents. There is a lot of love for them, and that has never faltered.”
They added: “He was raised by his grandparents, Jackie [Adams, Victoria Beckham’s mum] and Sandra [Beckham, David Beckham’s mum], when he was little and his parents were working. He adores them.”
The last time he publicly acknowledged his family before now was last June, when he posted online: “Happy birthday nanny xx love you so much.”
Though Brooklyn didn’t attend, mum Victoria pulled out all the stops for her dad’s special day. In a series of party snaps posted to her own Instagram feed she was seen wearing a silky baby blue gown as she sweetly hugged her father following a night of celebrations that looked to include a posh dinner and dancing.
Husband David, 51, and their other children – sons Romeo, 23 and Cruz, 21, and 14-year-old daughter Harper – were also dressed up to the nines and looked to be having a great time.
