‘Off Campus’ Star Antonio Cipriano Recalls Emotional Moment Belmont Cameli Came Up To Him ‘In Tears’

Off Campus, the new young adult romance, has been generating a lot of buzz. For those unaware, the show premiered a few days ago, on Amazon Prime Video, on May 13, 2026. Soon, it found a place in the hearts of die-hard romance fans who love shows like The Summer I Turned Pretty and XO, Kitty. Amid this, Off Campus star, Antonio Cipriano, opened up about his brotherhood with his fellow co-star, Belmont Cameli.

For those unaware, the hit Prime Video series, Off Campus, stars Belmont Cameli, Antonio Cipriano, Stephen Kalyn, and Jaylen Thomas Brooks. Together, they bring to life the beloved hockey players, Garrett, Logan, Dean, and Tucker, from Elle Kennedy’s eponymous book series. Those who have already read the book series might already be aware of the tight bond seen between ‘Garrett’ and ‘Logan,’ and the same is true for the actors who portray them.

During a recent interview with People, Antonio Cipriano revealed that they “had some pretty emotional moments together on set.” Recalling his first meeting with Belmont, he said he felt an “instant connection to him” and that there was already a sense of brotherhood. 

Antonio revealed that for the chemistry read, he and Belmont had to tackle the emotional conversation which takes place between ‘Logan’ and ‘Garrett’ where they open up about their desire to play together on the Boston Bruins after their graduation. Antonio claims that you could just feel that there’s a lot under the surface for ‘Logan’ in moments like these. According to him, there’s a bit of resentment because he does not have the same trajectory as ‘Garrett Graham.’ He said: 

“And what we really wanted to capture, Bel and I, was that deep love there, regardless of what’s happening underneath the surface…Obviously, we’re both Italians, so that already was an instant connection. When he walked into the room, I knew that was Garrett Graham. He’s just got this aura, man. He’s really got it.”

Antonio admitted that navigating the tricky friendship we see between the two hockey players was really special because both characters were initially reluctant to open up to each other. He recalled a notable moment while filming episode 8 of Off Campus, where his character, ‘Logan’, pulls ‘Garrett’ off of ‘Hannah’s’ high school rapist. According to Antonio, that day on set was very emotional for them and also prompted them to have some good talks between themselves about what they were going through in real life. He said: 

“There was a moment right after we filmed that, after we filmed his coverage, and he came up to me in tears, and we were just like, ‘I love you so much, brother. I got you. I got your back. So glad we finally had this moment to actually say, Hey, man, I got you, and I love you.’ It was really cathartic, honestly.”

Antonio Cipriano shares how he found similarity between his character on Off Campus and himself 

During the same interview with People, Antonio opened up about finding multiple similarities between his Off Campus character and himself. This includes ‘Logan’s’ relationship with his sibling, ‘Jules,’ to his own athletic history. He said:

“I was like, oh, great. I know exactly who this guy is. I know his dynamic with his family. I know the kind of peacekeeper vibe that you have to have as a middle child, so I really related to that. I think he’s such a loving and dependable guy, and that’s something that I try to be in my own life. And I really love a brotherly relationship. I really love what him and Garrett have, what him and the other guys have. I played sports my whole life, so I love the team aspect of it.”
