Teen sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi continues to win hearts in IPL 2026 not just with his fearless batting but also with his charming personality off the field. The young opener once again grabbed the spotlight during the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) clash in Jaipur, where he played another breathtaking knock under pressure. While fans were left stunned by his explosive batting display, it was Suryavanshi’s unique celebration after reaching his half-century that quickly became a major talking point on social media.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi explains the meaning behind his viral ‘A’ celebration
After completing a rapid fifty during the chase, the 15-year-old removed his gloves, placed his bat on the ground and made an ‘A’ symbol with both hands. The gesture instantly sparked curiosity among fans, with many trying to figure out its meaning. During the post-match presentation, commentator Murali Kartik asked him about the celebration, but Suryavanshi initially kept things mysterious and jokingly said he likes trying something new every game.
However, Rajasthan Royals later shared a dressing-room video where the youngster finally revealed the emotional reason behind the celebration. Speaking to the team staff, he admitted that the gesture was dedicated to his mother.
“Ye mein apni mummy ko dedicate kiya, unka naam A se hai. Mein chahta nahi tha ki sabko bataoon kyunki mein isko continue karna chahta hoon but actually unke liye tha,” he said.

Suryavanshi’s stunning knock keeps RR alive in playoff race
The emotional moment capped off yet another extraordinary performance from the teenage sensation. Chasing a massive 221-run target, Rajasthan Royals needed something special after the early wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Suryavanshi delivered exactly that.
The youngster completely shifted the momentum of the game with fearless strokeplay, racing to a 23-ball half-century before tearing apart the LSG bowling attack. He smashed 10 sixes and seven fours during his sensational 38-ball 93 before eventually falling to Mohsin Khan in the 14th over. By the time he departed, RR were firmly in control of the chase. The Royals eventually sealed a seven-wicket victory with five balls remaining to keep their playoff hopes alive.
The innings also helped Suryavanshi reclaim the Orange Cap. The teenage opener now sits at the top of the run-scoring charts with 579 runs in 13 innings at a staggering strike rate of over 236. Earlier, Mitchell Marsh had powered Lucknow Super Giants to 220/5 with a blistering 96, while Josh Inglis provided a flying start with an aggressive half-century during the powerplay.
