Brendan Gleeson spoke to Filmfare about portraying the formidable villain Silvermane in Oren Uziel’s Spider-Noir series. His character is ready to battle with Nicholas Cage’s Ben Reilly, who is an older and grizzled private-investigator version of Spider-Man set in a noir-inspired world.

During an exclusive interview with us, Brendan shared about Silvermane’s dangerous vitality and twisted thrill for conflict. When asked what aspect of the villain surprised him the most, Gleeson revealed, “His pleasure in the fight. There was a kind of a joy when his whole house was burnt down because he was rejuvenated. It is also stated in the first episode that it makes him feel young again. In a way, there is a sense of the kick of a dying horse, but there is also this new vitality that he feels taking on this struggle, which is interesting in itself. He is a fascinating character. He is at the end of his life, but he is rejuvenated. So all for badness, of course, but we have to take what we get.”
