Shocking security footage shows the moment a woman was knocked down and crushed by her own car while she checked the battery under the hood.
The woman was standing in front of her black Renault Clio with the hood raised when the vehicle abruptly jolted forward during the terrifying incident Tuesday in the southern Argentinian city of Comodoro Rivadavia, NewsX reported.
In the video, obtained from security cameras, the wheel passes directly over the woman’s chest and head before the car continues rolling down the road.
As the car keeps going, the woman is seen lying on the road, barely moving and clutching her chest.
The woman had been attempting to connect her car’s battery cables at the time, and when the circuit completed, the car, which reportedly had been left without the parking brake on, lurched forward, a witness told the police.
Police and an ambulance were scrambled to the scene, and the victim was rushed to the nearby Regional Hospital.
Miraculously, the victim, who hasn’t been identified, survived with no fractures or serious injuries, according to local media.
Security footage was collected by officers, and the vehicle was seized for forensic examination of its brakes and transmission to determine whether the incident was caused by a mechanical failure or human error.
