Kadapa: TDP national working president and minister Nara Lokesh on Thursday criticised YSRC chief Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing him of “deception and political conspiracies” during a meeting with party workers in Kadapa.
Referring to Jagan Mohan Reddy’s recent press interaction, Lokesh alleged that he had misled even his own constituency and district. He also criticised what he described as attempts to create divisions within the ruling alliance through “fake narratives and proxy campaigns”.
Lokesh alleged that the previous YSRC government had failed to bring industries or major irrigation projects to Kadapa and neglected victims during times of crisis.
Highlighting the TDP’s plans for the region, he reiterated his commitment to begin commercial production at the Kadapa steel plant before the 2029 elections.
He said efforts were under way to develop Rayalaseema as a horticulture hub and claimed that investments worth Rs 1 lakh crore had been mobilised in the region over the past two years.
Calling for unity among party cadre, Lokesh urged leaders and workers to counter “divisive politics” and actively take government welfare programmes to the public.
He also assured party workers that alleged false cases registered against them would be addressed and stressed the importance of strengthening grassroots-level engagement.
Earlier in the day, Lokesh held the 89th Praja Darbar in Kadapa after a coordination meeting at NGO Colony, where he received petitions from members of the public and party leaders.
Among the key demands raised were a caste census, proportional reservations for BCs and resolution of civic issues. Lokesh assured that all grievances would be reviewed promptly.
