Britney Spears Revealed To Officers That Her Mom Killed A Bicyclist, Before Her DUI Arrest, ‘I Know’

Britney Spears has been one of the legendary pop stars. Since the beginning of her career, she has started to grab utmost attention and has engraved her name in every block of the musical world. Well, it has been years since she has been away from the public limelight and her social media activity also often leaves fans shocked about what could have possibly happened to her.

Britney also recently admitted to having taken Prozac and Adderall on the day before her arrest. And recently, TMZ revealed another piece of information, which revealed that Spears even revealed to the officers that her mom had killed someone in 1975.

According to a report by TMZ, Britney Spears, on the night of her DUI arrest, spoke to the officials. When an officer asked her if she was about to kill someone, being intoxicated and that she could be charged with murder, Britney Spears threw shade at her mom, Lynne’s way and mentioned that her mom tried to kill a bicyclist in 1975, stating that she never did anything like that.

To the officer’s comment, Britney said, ‘Yes, sir, I know. My mom accidentally killed a man on a bike … but I never did that before.’ She further asked the officer how her mom got away with everything, while adding that Lynne also tried to kill her. When the officer reportedly asked her whether she could understand anything he had said, she mentioned that she is ‘dumb’ and the officers shouldn’t take advantage of her dumbness.

It was in 1975, when Britney Spears’ mom, Lynne Spears was found guilty of murdering a bicyclist, according to Radar Online. According to the reports, Lynne was admitted to killing and hitting a 12-year-old, Anthony Winters, while rushing her brother to the hospital in her memoir. Anthony Winters was riding his bike when she ran over the young kid.

As per the reports, it was the young boy’s mom, Yvonne Winters, who revealed that Lynne never contacted her ever. Speaking about the same, Yvonne’s mom said that it was an accident and that could happen to anyone, but Lynne never actually called her in four decades after the death of his child. She could be quoted as saying:

“It’s been 40-some years ago, but she’s never been in touch with me. It was an accident. It was a terrible situation, but it was an accident, and accidents can happen to anyone.”

Soon after Britney’s DUI arrest, her mom, Lynne, reached out to her, and their conversation, as per TMZ, was positive. For the uninitiated, Lynne and Britney had a strained relationship. In 2021, Britney revealed that it was her dad who began the conservatorship, and her mom gave him the idea. Britney shared that it was her mom who ‘ruined her life’.

And when the singer got married to Sam Asghari, her mom was not invited to the wedding. Britney also blocked her mom on social media and replied with a strong ‘no’ when she was asked by her mother to unblock her. In 2023, the duo had a meeting in person, following which their relationship was reportedly a bit better, however, as per Us Weekly, by 2025, their relationship became complicated again.
