Mackenzie Shirilla Allegedly Used 'Sugar Daddy' Sites In Prison, Claims Ex-Inmate, 'They Fund..'

Mackenzie Shirilla and her life have been the ‘hottest topic’ ever since the documentary, The Crash, was released on Netflix on May 15, 2026 (ET). It followed the events of July 31, 2022, where an accident took the lives of Dominic (Dom) Russo and Davion Flanagan. The Netflix documentary has put her back into the spotlight after the tragic wreck. However, it has also led netizens to grow curious about her life inside the prison. Amid that, Kat Crowder, who allegedly spent six months with Mackenzie in prison, has made some shocking revelations about her time in jail.

Mackenzie Shirilla allegedly used ‘Sugar Daddy’ sites while in prison?

Mackenzie Shirilla’s ex-inmate, Kat Crowder, has made some shocking revelations about the former’s life behind bars. According to her conversation with TMZ, Mackenzie was using some sort of ‘Sugar Daddy’ website to fund her lifestyle inside jail. Kat refers to the platforms Mackenzie was active on as “sugar daddy” websites, though she says that label was more jail slang than literal.

In the conversation with TMZ, Kat Crowder admitted that she doesn’t think that Mackenzie was using these sites anymore, as many people had found out about them, and it wasn’t something she wanted to get out. However, Kat revealed that she wouldn’t be shocked if she got plenty of attention through them. She was quoted as saying:

“She was on these like ‘sugar daddy’ for inmates’ websites, which they’re not advertised as sugar daddy, but that’s what we call them inside. She is no longer on them because I think people have kind of found out it’s not a good look, obviously. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if she got a lot of traction from them because she was on there.”

Kat Crowder explains what websites Mackenzie Shirilla was using in jail

In the same conversation, when asked if these ‘Sugar Daddy’ sites were like OnlyFans, Kat Crowder denied having any similarities between them and gave the example of Gypse Rose’s case to explain what the websites were like. She revealed that women inside prison used these sites to feed lies to men who, in return, paid for their lifestyle, thinking they were investing in a future. She was quoted as saying:

“These are like you know…Gypsy Rose met Ken and Ryan, both through PenPal websites, which is what they are. But in turn, these women feed them lies like ‘I am gonna come home to you’ yada yada, and they fund their prison lifestyle.”

Mackenzie Shirilla is running her own crafts business inside the prison

Kat Crowder, who says she spent six months in prison with Mackenzie Shirilla, tells TMZ that the latter got crafty with an arts kit, continuing to hustle even behind bars. She revealed that Mackenzie was making jewellery, including nose rings, bracelets, and custom shoes. Kat claimed Mackenzie told people that if they wanted something, they could pay up via Cash App, which was allegedly in her mother, Natalie Shirilla. She was quoted as saying:

“There was one time when…it was kinda like she was artsy and creative in there, I will say that she made like jewellery and nose rings, like bracelets, that you could buy through the boxes, and she was selling jewellery and shoes. And she told one of my friends and me that if you want it, you can send it to this Cash App, and it was her mother.”

More about Mackenzie Shirilla’s case

In 2023, Shirilla was convicted on multiple murder-related charges and sentenced to prison after prosecutors said she drove nearly 100 MPH into a brick wall, killing her boyfriend, Dominic Russo and their friend Davion Flanagan. Now, with the release of The Crash details around her case have once again been making headlines. However, Mackenzie has been pushing back against viewers’ perception of her, claiming she is not the monster the documentary has portrayed her as.
