‘Virgin River’ Actor, Stewart McLean’s Death At 45, Friend, Jeff Seymour Suspected Big Trouble

Stewart McLean, the American TV actor best known for his roles on Virgin River, was found dead on May 22, 2026. A missing report was lodged on May 18, 2026. A day before his death, it was announced that Stewart was possibly a victim of homicide. Canada’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) announced on May 22, 2026, that Stewart’s remains were located in the Lions Bay area. Amid this, Stewart’s friend, Jeff Seymour, shared that he suspected something was wrong about a week before his remains were found.

Jeff shared that he suspected something was wrong after the 45-year-old TV actor, who appeared in shows like Virgin River, Arrow and Supernatural, did not show up for a scheduled day of filming last week. Jeff described the late actor as meticulous. The Virgin River actor was last seen on May 15, 2026, at his residence in Lions Bay, British Columbia, Canada. Jeff was quoted as saying:

“He was meticulous about everything, and there would be no chance he blew it off or slept too late. As soon as I heard he didn’t make it on Saturday morning, I knew there was big trouble.”

In the same interview, Jeff Seymour remembered late actor, Stewart McLean as an honest, careful and disciplined man. He mentioned that the Virgin River actor stayed out of trouble and used to spend a lot of time reading and staying alone at home. Jeff stated that he and Stewart had been friends for over eight years. Recently, in April 2026, Stewart also visited Jeff’s house in Los Angeles. He expressed his shock over his missing case that led to his untimely death. He was quoted as saying:

“It just doesn’t make any sense. He was incredibly situationally aware. I bring it up because, for the life of me, I don’t know how anybody could get the drop on Stewart. Everybody loved this guy; it wasn’t like he was in nefarious activities or, you know, kind of ran with another crowd. I mean, he was a bit of a loner. He spent a lot of time reading and being at his home out there in Squamish. It’s just a shocker. I would love to see justice served.”

Lucas Talent Inc. confirmed the devastating news of Stewart McLean through a Facebook post. Talent agent, Jodi Caplan, who had been Stewart’s agent for more than a decade, mentioned that he will be deeply missed. Jodi also mentioned that the late actor was always a pleasure to deal with. The statement shared by Lucas Talent Inc. can be read as:

Squamish Royal Canadian Mounted Police received a missing person report for Stewart on May 18, 2026. Later, on May 22, 2026, Stewart was declared dead as his remains were found in Lions Bay.
