Triptii Dimri says Maa Behen instantly reminded her of two women from her childhood who were constantly judged by society. “Adults would tell us children, ‘Don’t go near them, don’t become friends with them, they are strange.’ That memory stayed with me,” she recalls.
“Society judged them without even knowing them properly. If I ever get a chance to apologise to them, perhaps this film is my way of doing it.”
In Suresh Triveni’s film, Triptii plays Jaya, daughter to Madhuri Dixit’s character. “Jaya is the ghar ki sushil beti, but she also has a strong sense of right and wrong,” says the actor.
Triptii is equally emotional while speaking about sharing screen space with Madhuri Dixit. “Sharing screen space with the legendary Madhuri Dixit, someone who made an entire generation fall in love with cinema, is truly surreal.”
