The ongoing controversy around Don 3 has taken a serious turn, with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) stepping in to resolve the conflict. The feud involves Ranveer Singh, director Farhan Akhtar, and producer Ritesh Sidhwani. The filmmakers approached the board after Ranveer abruptly exited the project, prompting the federation to intervene. As the industry awaits the final decision from FWICE, Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit shared his thoughts on the situation.

Speaking to Bombay Times, Ashoke Pandit expressed his concern over the situation, calling it a damaging pattern for the Hindi film industry. He said, “It’s a very serious matter, and this trend is very wrong. You can’t withdraw from a project 10 days before the shoot starts. We are having an internal meeting first, and then we are taking a call.”

When questioned about which way the board’s decision might lean, Pandit said that the federation’s priority is protecting the film business as a whole. He added, “We will do something that is justified now. We will not allow the industry to be doomed here. Tomorrow, anybody can walk out of a movie. Whatever we do, we will do it in the interest of the industry.”

According to a report by Mid-day, the board’s decision might lean against Ranveer Singh. A source close to the portal revealed that the federation is worried about the example this sets for future productions. “Everybody agreed that this cannot become a pattern. Not every film will become a blockbuster like Dhurandhar. If actors begin exiting projects days before schedules begin, smaller producers will collapse under the pressure.”

The dispute started in December 2025 when Ranveer Singh unexpectedly walked out of Don 3, despite being officially attached to the movie for nearly two years. Reports indicate that he chose to leave the project due to script changes.

However, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani stated that Excel Entertainment had already spent a substantial amount of money on the pre-production of Don 3, counting on Ranveer’s commitment. After the sudden exit, the production house reportedly sought a compensation of Rs 40 crore from the actor.

Don 3 was officially announced in 2024. The announcement of Ranveer Singh as the new face of the franchise, along with his first-look teaser, created a lot of buzz online. Later, Kiara Advani was brought on board as the female lead, taking over the role previously played by Priyanka Chopra Jonas. After Ranveer’s sudden exit just days before the scheduled shoot, the future of Don 3 now remains completely uncertain.
