Hyderabad: Minister for Women and Child Welfare Department Danasari Anasuya Seethakka inaugurated the working women’s hostel “Sakhi Nivas” and One Stop Center “Sakhi Centre” on Road No. 12, Banjara Hills here.

Speaking on the occasion, Seethakka said the government is setting up working women’s hostels to provide safe accommodation for women coming to Hyderabad from rural areas in search of employment and job opportunities.

She informed that accommodation facilities have been provided for about 150 women in this hostel. She stated that special facilities have been arranged so that mothers coming with young children can also stay here.

Seethakka noted that the Telangana government is working with utmost priority for women’s safety, dignity, self-confidence, and economic independence. She said some people are criticizing because they cannot tolerate women’s progress, but such criticisms do not stand before women’s power.

She remarked that women themselves will teach a lesson to the opposition parties that cannot digest women’s advancement. The Minister informed that the state government has increased the interest-free loan limit for women’s groups from five lakhs to ten lakhs rupees.

She said they are providing employment opportunities such as rice mills, petrol bunkers, and women’s supermarkets to women’s groups. From a situation where they once had to depend on others for expenses they are being elevated to the level of bearing household costs, taking responsibility for children’s education, and providing employment to four people, she stated.

The Minister clarified that empowering women as a force for wealth creation is the government’s goal. She pointed out that when women’s income increases, the family strengthens, and the state becomes prosperous. She said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is working with the goal that a woman should rise in every family.

Seethakka revealed that solar power plants set up under the leadership of women’s groups will be inaugurated on Wednesday, and in Madhira constituency, they will be launched through the hands of Deputy Chief Minister Batti Vikramarka.

On June 5, Revanth Reddy will provide RTC buses to women, she disclosed. She called upon to showcase to society the victories women are achieving village by village, stating that Telangana’s progress lies in women’s upliftment.
