Coronation Street star, Olivia Frances Brown, who plays Jodie Ramsay in the ITV soap, has reportedly split from 007 hopeful actor, James Nelson-Joyce

Soap star Olivia Frances Brown and her fiancé, James Nelson-Joyce, have called it quits, according to reports. The pair, who got engaged last August, were tipped to become one of showbiz’s hottest couples, with Olivia, 27, making her mark in Coronation Street as Jodie Ramsay while James, 37, sets his sights on playing the new 007 as the official search for James Bond begins.

Last year, James’ name was thrown into the mix after the Liverpudlian actor wowed fans starring as crime boss Michael Kavanagh in the BBC’s new gritty drama This City Is Ours.

However, it looks like it’s all over for the couple with the pair deleting all trace of each other from their social media accounts. Claiming their relationship is “finished”, a source said: “It’s finished. They were a rock-solid showbiz couple, and their fans will be absolutely shocked and devastated.”

According to insiders, the sudden split comes down to Olivia and James’s hectic schedules, with the hard-working duo ‘struggling to make time in their diaries for each other’, reports The Sun.

In the wake of the news, Olivia hopped on Instagram posting a sultry shot of herself, rocking a blunt black fringe and a strapless polka dot dress. She captioned the post: “After the rain, the nice weather.”

As Corrie fans will recall, Olivia’s first appearance on the soap was back in January during the shows’ epic crossover with Emmerdale dubbed Corriedale, which featured a horror multi-vehicle pile-up.

The actress has recently been at the centre of one of the soaps’ biggest storylines of the year as the outrageous Jodie attempted to seduce her own sister’s husband.

Jodie was also named as one of five key suspects in the soap’s recent high-stakes ‘whodunnit’ murder mystery.

As the storyline unfolds, and Corrie fans continue to question what Jodie is up to, actress Olivia has been seen showing off a new look. The soap star took to social media with a string of photos as she told her followers: “Chopped the fringe, felt cute.”

And it didn’t take long for the compliments to come flooding in, including from her new Corrie pals. Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt, said: “I love it,” while Cassie Plummer star Claire Sweeney echoed: “Love it [heart emoji].” On-screen sister Julia Goulding, who plays Shona, added: “Beauts [love heart eyes emoji]!”

Meanwhile, James, who has also worked with Adolescence star, Stephen Graham, said he’d be honoured to play the iconic James Bond. During an interview with the BBC, he joked it was about time someone from Liverpool was given the plum job, quipping: “I mean… double oh Scouse, I’m here for it.”

The Mirror has contacted James’ rep. Olivia’s rep declined to comment.
