Hyderabad: An alert resident foiled the attempts of a person to snatch a gold chain from a woman at Jayabheri Colony in Kompally.
The accused entered an oil shop on the pretext of a customer and tried to snatch gold from a woman sitting inside. When she raised an alarm, local residents rushed to her rescue and caught hold of the accused.
The residents assaulted the accused before handing him over to the police, who booked a case and took up investigation.
