Fanaa is celebrating 20 years since its release today. Aamir Khan and Kajol play the main characters in the Kunal Kohli-directed film. The actors were reunited in this movie after nine years, having previously collaborated on Ishq (1997). It follows the story of Rehan, a tour guide who meets Zooni, a blind Kashmiri woman. She rejects the advice of her friends to ignore Rehan since she is determined to live independently. As he shows her how to live life to the fullest, he also hides a secret that could endanger both of them. Fanaa also featured Rishi Kapoor, Kirron Kher, and Tabu in pivotal roles.
To mark the occasion, Kajol shared a couple of throwback stills from the film, along with a heartfelt note that read, “20 years to Fanaa.. my daughter was 2 and a half years old and I was ——— (laughing emoji) but what I remember most was Poland in all its glory.. -27 degrees Celsius, beautiful forests and sleds used on sidewalks .. ! And off course the fact that I wore a thin salwar kameez while most everyone else was dressed in goose down .. what a blast from the past!”
