Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday described MahaNadu as a “festival of party cadres” and said this year’s event has been dedicated to women, underlining the Telugu Desam Party’s commitment to their empowerment.
Addressing party workers, he said lakhs of cadres participated through a hybrid format, adding that while the meeting style has evolved, the spirit and principles of MahaNadu remain unchanged. He said the platform would be used to review past performance, discuss key issues, and outline future plans.
Naidu asserted that the TDP has consistently stood for welfare, development, and good governance, and has played a key role in ensuring social justice. He described the party as a guiding force in national politics, enjoying enduring public support.
Recalling the party’s struggles, he said TDP has fought relentlessly for democracy despite arrests, threats, and hardships. He paid tribute to party workers who sacrificed their lives and said the party never bowed to pressure.
Highlighting women’s welfare, the Chief Minister said several initiatives have been implemented to ensure their economic and social dignity. He cited measures such as free bus travel, free LPG connections earlier, and the provision of three free gas cylinders annually. He also stressed strict action against crimes targeting women and efforts to curb drug abuse.
Naidu reaffirmed that the government remains committed to fulfilling promises made to the people and ensuring inclusive growth across the state.
