Nalgonda: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday alleged that the BJP-led Union government had initiated a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls to retain voters favourable to it and remove those opposed to the party.

Addressing a meeting of the District Congress Political Affairs Committee at the District Congress office in Khammam, he said booth-level agents of the party must be given utmost priority. He stressed the need to strengthen the organisation from the booth level and directed that mandal executive committees, booth committees and village committees be constituted by June 30.

He called upon party leaders and members to work collectively to strengthen the party and uphold the principles of social justice.

District Congress Committee president Nuthi Satyanarayana said the party would recognise dedicated workers and provide them with political opportunities. He urged leaders and workers to further strengthen the Congress from booth to district level.

MLAs Matta Ragamayee and Maloth Ramdas Naik, Khammam City Congress Committee president Nagandla Deepak Chowdary, Telangana State Warehousing Corporation chairman Rayala Nageswara Rao and other party leaders attended the meeting.
