Hyderabad: Land parcels in the proposed Future City area near Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport witnessed strong demand during an e-auction conducted by the Telangana Housing Board, with a prime plot at Raviryal fetching ₹83,500 per square yard.
Housing Board Vice-Chairman VP Gautham said the auction of four land parcels in Raviryal village of Maheshwaram mandal generated nearly ₹140 crore revenue for the board. The plots, ranging from 1,000 square yards to 13,500 square yards, drew participation from around 17 firms and developers.
Officials said the parcels are located near the proposed Future City entrance and close to the airport, making them attractive for large-scale commercial and residential projects. The housing board had issued a notification last month announcing the e-auction.
A 1,113-square-yard plot recorded the highest bid in the auction. While the minimum price was fixed at ₹26,000 per square yard, competitive bidding pushed the final price to ₹83,500 per square yard, officials said.
Another parcel measuring around 6,000 square yards was sold at ₹62,500 per square yard. Bidding was also intense for a 13,500-square-yard parcel in the locality.
Officials said the response reflected growing demand for government-owned land parcels with clear titles and litigation-free status, particularly in emerging growth corridors around Hyderabad.
The housing board will conduct another round of e-auctions on Friday as part of its land monetisation drive. Four additional plots in KPHB Colony and Qutbullapur-Chintal areas will be put up for auction.
The properties include plots measuring 5,898 square yards and 2,420 square yards in KPHB Colony Phases 1 and 2, besides land parcels of 10,890 square yards and 3,388 square yards in Qutbullapur-Chintal.
