Hyderabad: BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Saturday expressed support for Class 12 students raising concerns over the ongoing CBSE marks controversy and called for transparency and accountability in the evaluation process.

KTR praised students across the country for questioning alleged irregularities in the assessment system, stating that students and parents have every right to seek clarity when their academic future is at stake.

Referring to reports surrounding the controversy, KTR claimed that Globarena, the company at the centre of the current issue, was also associated with the Telangana Intermediate results controversy in 2019. He alleged that despite its past record, the company continued to secure major contracts, leading to fresh concerns.

Recalling the response of the then BRS government to the 2019 Intermediate results issue, KTR said a three-member committee was constituted to investigate the matter, following which action was taken against officials concerned and legal proceedings were initiated against the company.

He further alleged that CBSE failed to take note of the company’s past performance and questioned how it was entrusted with responsibilities affecting a large number of students.

Holding the Union Government accountable, KTR demanded an explanation from the Centre and the Union Education Ministry regarding the selection of the firm and the handling of the issue.

Stating that students deserve transparency, fairness and accountability, KTR urged CBSE and the Union Government to address students’ grievances, rectify any errors, and ensure responsibility is fixed wherever lapses are found.
