NELLORE: The Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) has placed its field staff and officials on high alert following heavy rains and strong winds in several districts under its jurisdiction.

APSPDCL chairman and managing director Shivashankar Lotheti said chief general manager-level officers had been appointed as nodal officers for each district to monitor power restoration activities in the event of disruptions.

The power utility has directed officials to keep essential materials, including distribution transformers, conductors and electric poles, ready for emergency repair works. Control rooms have been established at circle and division levels, while special teams have been deployed in rain-affected areas to expedite restoration of power supply.

Lotheti said the measures were aimed at ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply and prompt restoration wherever outages occur due to adverse weather conditions.

He advised the public to avoid touching electric poles or standing beneath power lines during rains. Consumers have been urged to immediately report snapped wires, fallen poles and other electricity-related hazards to local power officials or the Assistant Executive Engineer concerned.

Complaints can also be registered through the toll-free helplines 1912 and 1800-425-155333, or via APSPDCL’s WhatsApp service at 91333 31912 for prompt response and resolution.
