Vince Morales admits that his release from the UFC makes sense, at least on paper.
Morales (16-11) was removed from the UFC roster on Friday. The bantamweight veteran expressed his sadness in a post on social media. However, the 35-year-old hasn’t lost confidence in his own capability and promises good news soon.
“Sad day, makes sense on paper,” Morales wrote on X. “I still know how capable I am though. I’ll have some news soon. Cheers fam.”
A Difficult Road
This was Morales’ second UFC stint. Morales first made his UFC debut in 2018 and went 3-5 in the promotion before being released in 2022. Morales then racked up five straight wins with four finishes on the regional circuit to earn another shot in the UFC. Morales lost all four of his UFC outings in his second stint against tough prospects in Taylor Lapilus, Elijah Smith, Raul Rosas Jr. and Colby Thicknesse. When a fan notes that Morales’ second UFC stint was a series of hard matchups, “Vandetta” said he wanted it that way.
