Callum Turner has shared how he and Dua Lipa met and the sweet moment that made it like a Hollywood romance, as the two tie the knot in an intimate London ceremony

Callum Turner and Dua Lipa are married – and their romance has been worthy of Hollywood right from the start! Prior to their wedding, Callum revealed how he met the Don’t Start Now singer and the sweet moment that made their meet cute something out of a rom-com.

Callum and Dua were first spotted together at the premiere for Master of the Air in London in January 2024. Later that month, the two were photographed kissing while on a date at Sushi Park in Los Angeles.

Months later, they went Instagram official and made their red carpet debut at the 2025 Met Gala. And it all began at a friend’s birthday party with a book.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Callum said: “We sat next to each other and realised we were reading the same book, which is crazy. It’s called Trust, and I had just finished the first chapter, and I told her, and she looked at me and said, ‘I just finished the first chapter too.’ I said, ‘So we’re on the same page.'”

He said it felt like a Hollywood romance. The actor explained: “In the movie version of it, I look up to the sky and I’m like, I hear you. I understand. The signs are loud, don’t worry. And that was really the first [moment].”

Dua previously told Rolling Stone that she found dating “a little confusing” before Callum. “It’s either through friends of friends or people you trust where you can meet new people,” she said. “Because [dating] is not really so straightforward when you are, I guess, a public person.”

They got engaged in January 2025. But the couple were in no rush to plan their wedding, as Dua was in the middle of her mammoth 81-date Radical Optimism Tour, which grossed over £100million.

She told British Vogue at the time: “I want to finish my tour, Callum’s shooting [a movie], so we’re just enjoying this period… I’ve never been someone who’s really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be. All of a sudden, I’m like: ‘Oh, what would I wear?'”

And she added that she was “obsessed” with her engagement ring, particularly because it meant that Callum, whom she’ll be spending the rest of her life with, knows her “very well”.

But although she and Callum would love to welcome children, the singer admits she didn’t know when would be a “good time” due to their crazy schedules.

She said: “But it’s like the constant question of when would there ever be a good time – how it would fit in with my job and how it would work if I went on tour, and how much time out I’d have to take.”

The Sun reported that Dua’s pals, Charli xcx and Tove Lo, were on the guest list for her wedding, which took place at Old Marylebone Town Hall. There is speculation that Sir Elton John, with whom she collaborated in 2021, could perform at the ceremony.
