Katie Price has reportedly been left furious after Meta deleted her Instagram account amid an investigation and has now lost 2.6 million followers as her account cannot be recovered
Katie Price has reportedly been left fuming after an investigation into her Instagram activity resulted in her account being deleted. The star’s Instagram account disappeared from the social media platform last week shortly after her ‘missing’ husband, Lee Andrews, was found in Dubai.
When fans tried to open her page, they met with a message that said: “Sorry, this page isn’t available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed.”
It has now been reported that the account was deleted by Meta execs as they investigated her posts following complaints she “flashed a boob” regarding her promotion of CBD products. The account reportedly cannot be recovered, despite the investigation clearing Price of wrongdoing, meaning she will have to make a whole new account and has lost her 2.6 million followers.
A source claimed to The Sun: “Katie is furious. It’s absolutely ridiculous that she’s had her account deactivated after spending years building it up and gaining over two and a half million followers.
“She was previously told it would be back up and running, and now they’re saying she might have to start from scratch and have a brand new account with zero followers.”
They added that it was “small-minded trolls” making the complaints “for the sake of it” and that Katie was “suffering” as a result. The Mirror reached out to Meta for comment.
The Instagram account’s deletion comes just after Katie was using it to update her fans on her husband’s ‘disappearance’. Katie had been keeping fans updated on what she knew, insisting on Instagram stories and reposts of her podcast that Lee was missing.
She said at the time: “Hey everyone, I don’t really know where to begin, but I know there’s all this speculation about Lee from when I met him, but something really, really serious has happened.
“I’ve been forced that I have to say this now because my sister’s been getting emails now from the media. It was put up on my Instagram that Lee is taking time out from social media because of all the trolling, the media frenzy, the speculation.
“I put that up because the truth is that Lee has been missing for three days. The last time I heard from Lee was Wednesday night at 10pm. He was trying to go through the border in Dubai to get on a flight to me.” Katie released another statement that said he had been found in Dubai over two weeks after Lee first disappeared.
Some thought the timing of Katie’s Instagram account being deleted meant it was related to Lee being found, but speaking to The Sun, a source debunked that. They said it was Meta who took the page down after “miserable keyboard warriors with nothing better to do” complained.
They added: “I don’t think anyone can really complain about a hint of boob when things like OnlyFans are in existence. Anyway, it’s all been sorted now, and she should be back up and running within the next 24 hours. It was a lot of fuss about nothing and just quite annoying, really.” But now it seems the account is gone for good.
