A woman who spotted Amanda Holden on the street while out walking her dog was praised for the genius way she got the star’s attention without being annoying

Encountering a famous face in public can feel like stepping into another dimension. While we’re all aware that celebrities are just regular folk who need to nip to the shops and take their dogs for walks like everyone else, actually running into one seems unlikely unless you’re in celebrity hotspots like the capital.

So when one local resident clocked Amanda Holden during a stroll with her four-legged friend on the Isles of Scilly, she was utterly stunned – and quickly devised a clever scheme to catch the attention of the telly icon. Georgia May, a resident of the picturesque archipelago situated off Cornwall’s coastline, took to social media to reveal her brilliant strategy for getting the Britain’s Got Talent panellist to acknowledge her presence without seeming intrusive.

In the Instagram footage, Georgia can be seen perched on a seaside bench alongside her pooch Maya when she noticed Amanda chatting with a cluster of individuals nearby.

Rather than barging into their conversation uninvited, Georgia hatched a far more ingenious approach – deploying her canine companion as an ambassador.

The amusing clip captures Georgia urging Maya to bound towards the gathering, several of whom were accompanied by their own furry friends.

This tactical move would allow her to retrieve Maya while organically crossing paths with Amanda.

Clever Maya clearly grasped her mission perfectly, as she bolted straight towards Amanda, who warmly welcomed the dog with affectionate ear scratches.

Amanda can be heard in the footage asking: “Oh, who is this one?”

While the video cuts off before Georgia approaches Amanda, she subsequently posted a photograph of the pair together.

Alongside the snap, she wrote: “What a fab day yesterday. Pimped out Maya to say hi to Amanda (see previous reel), legend dog. Amanda – what a lush lady. Truly so lovely.”

Amanda wasn’t the only notable visitor to the Isles of Scilly last week, as Prince William, who also bears the title Duke of Cornwall, was present during a two-day tour of the South West.

Georgia captured a photograph of William, which she uploaded alongside her picture with Amanda, though it remains uncertain whether the Royal had the opportunity to meet Maya.

Followers on Georgia’s Instagram were absolutely delighted by her encounter with Amanda, with numerous people commending Maya for grasping the mission and being the “best dog ever”.

One commenter remarked: “Maya didn’t mess around, she knew the assignment!”
