Emily Strayer, Martie Maguire and Natalie Maines are back in action.

After a three-year hiatus from the road, The Chicks recently announced they’re striking out on their nationwide ‘Taking The Long Way 20th Anniversary Tour’ this fall.

From September through November, the Dallas natives have shows at theaters, auditoriums and concert halls all over North America.

That includes a three-night stint at New York City’s Beacon Theatre. They’re scheduled to take place:

Saturday, Oct. 10
8 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 12
8 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 13
8 p.m.

Prior to the official tour, The Chicks will open for Tim McGraw on a handful of dates and headline at a few major festivals including the star-studded Zootown in Missoula, MT.

They also have a one-off gig at Atlantic City’s Hard Rock on Friday, July 31.

In the off-chance you haven’t listened to “Taking The Long Way” since its May 2006 release, the best-selling record debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and spawned smash hits “Not Ready To Make Nice,” “Lullaby,” “Easy Silence,” “The Long Way Around” and “Everybody Knows.”

The fiery record ended up winning five Grammy Awards including Album of the Year, Best Country Album and Song of the Year for “Not Ready To Make Nice.”

“‘Long Way’ is the Chicks’ least country-pop outing,” Tinnitist wrote in a review from ’06.

“It’s also their most varied and personal work, as the band embrace a host of styles and sounds that extend far beyond their musical comfort zone and complement tales of struggling against adversity and sticking to your guns.”
